Grandparents Visit to Florida

My dad and my step-mom Dolly came to visit us over Thanksgiving in their brand new RV. They bought both kids Christmas presents and had the kids for a couple of days in their RV. They also bought me a nice sized grill and cat toys for Takako’s cats. They bought Stacy a set of kitchen bowls.

Stacy was very pleasant and agreeable when Dolly contacted her and asked if she could see the kids. My parents drove up to Palm Coast to pick up the kids and stopped by at Stacy’s house and socialized with Allen and the kids for a while. Dolly said that she thought Allen was a “hunk” and kept repeating what a good looking guy he was and how Stacy has done well for herself. She also said their house was in a nice area.

In regards to the kids, Dolly said that they were “good kids” but that she couldn’t get over how “wasteful they were with their food”. “I would never tolerate that in my house” she said. In regards to Stacy, Dolly said she had always believed that Stacy was a poor choice to have children with, but that in the end “it will all work out” and the kids are basically “good kids” so I should not worry about it.

Then Dolly told me of an incident that happened shortly after Stacy became pregnant with our first child. According to Dolly, Stacy and her “white trash of a mother” came to her house to discuss their “concerns” about David. They claimed to be worried that I would somehow hurt the child when it was born because I had told Stacy of my experience with an abusive step-father in my youth. At the time I was about 9 years old and was living with my mother. My step-father was physically abusive and his older son tried to engage me and my younger brother in sexual activities. Children Services looked into this and resulted in us moving in with Dad and Dolly. My mother divorced shortly after. Stacy and her mom told Dolly that they wanted to know if she thought I would abuse my child and what they should do about it. Dolly said that basically she told them that she thought I would be an excellent father and that to get out and never come back. “The audacity of them coming to ask me! Imagine that!” Dolly said.
