Zachary’s Reading Log for the Week starting April 22^nd 2004.

This is the hand written note to the teacher indicating Zachary completed his oral reading on the dates 4/23 Friday to 4/23 Wednesday. Stacy wrote it on a piece of paper because Zach had misplaced his reading log somewhere. Parenting schedule was as follows.

4/15 Thursday. No school. Scheduled for Stacy but changed to David

4/16 Friday. Kids with David after school to overnight.

4/17 Saturday. Kids with Stacy overnight.

4/18 Sunday. Stacy daytime, David overnight

4/19 Monday. David after school and overnight.

4/20 Tuesday. Stacy after school and overnight.

4/21 Wednesday. Stacy after school and overnight.

At this time, Stacy had just started working at Race Track and had a lot of irregularities in her work schedule. She worked the 2pm to 10pm shift as well as the 6am to 3 pm shift. Stacy would call the night before requesting schedule changes. This was especially hectic because we were going off of Stacy’s schedule of 2 days on 2 and half days off, rotation between houses. If it was Stacy’s overnight, she would drop the kids off at my place in the morning. If she worked the afternoon shift, she would ask me to pick them up from school and she came to pick them up at 10pm at night after work, only to bring them back at 6am. Understandably Stacy was stressed out. Yet she still insisted on her schedule no matter how impractical for the kids. She asked for schedule changes only if she absolutely could not keep the kids. She continued to make last minute changes and expected me to follow them with out a fuss. This was also creating problems for me at work. Takako helped out as much as she could.

So in her defense, she probably wrote down what Zach asked her to on his reading log. I was not aware he had a reading log to do for the week. (My mistake for not keeping up with the teachers). When confronted, Stacy emphatically insisted that the reading log was accurate. How could it be if she didn’t see Zach on at least 2 of the days on the log?
