This is a map of Daytona with markings for all the relevant
locations.
My apartment was
located on US1 near the junction of Nova
Rd. My work is right
next to the Ormond Beach
airport and a mile or so south of it is Pine Trail Elementary.
Stacy's
duplex was located in Holly Hill, located around the center of this map. Holly
Hill Elementary is within walking distance from her place. She worked at the RacTrack gas station by the I-95 exit on US Highway 1,
located at the top of this map. In order to get to work at 6am. She would first
drive in the opposite direction on US 1 to drop off the kids at her baby
sitters, then drive back up US1, pass my apartment to get to work.
Later Stacy
moved in with Alan in Palm
Coast,
which is located 25 mile north of the map on I-95. She chose to drive an extra 15-20
miles all the way down to her babysitters each morning so the children can
continue school at Holly Hill Elementary, drove up past my place again to go to
work. Her work shift ended at 3pm
so the kids waited in the school office until she came to pick them up. They
used to complain that at Holly Hill they couldn't play in the playground while
they waited because students were forbidden to be out there without a teacher
present. Apparently they had come
questionable characters come up to the children in the past.
In March of
2005 I moved out west 120 miles on I-4. Plant
City is a small community located
between Tampa
and Orlando. In July of 2005, Stacy moved to Jacksonville
about 100 miles north on from Daytona.
According to Mirrissa, it is not her mama's "responsibility"
to drive 300 miles and take the kids to see their father when it was the father
who moved away from the family.
