11/05/87 Driving w License Suspended Revoked

11/26/05 Expired Driver License more than 4 months

11/26/05 Operating Motor Vehicle Expired Registration 6 months

11/26/05 Driver not Belted

11/26/05 Passenger over 16 not Belted

Allen and Stacy were not wearing their seat belts. Allen license expired since Feb 2005. The registration on the blue GMC pickup they were driving had an expired more than 6months ago.

Allen hired an attorney and pleaded no contest to the expired driver’s license charge. He paid a fine of $250 and that portion is closed.  Stacy pleaded guilty to her no seatbelt charge and it was closed for $74.50 in fines.

Allen went to court for the expired registration and adjudication was withheld by the judge and infraction of not wearing a seat belt was dismissed.  “Under Florida law, the court can withhold adjudication “if it appears to the court that the defendant is not likely again  to engage in a criminal course of conduct and that the ends of justice and the welfare of  society do not require that the defendant presently suffer the penalty imposed by law."  The court then orders the defendant to participate in what is called a "community control" program.  If the defendant successfully completes the program there is no conviction.” Apparently he didn’t see all the previous times Allen didn’t have his vehicle registered or was driving on an suspended or expired license. That’s justice system for you.

12/10/05 Expired Driver License more than 4 months

Allen still had not renewed his license despite being pulled over for the same thing 2 weeks ago He was driving the Ford pickup. I guess Stacy’s Ford pick up was registered when she called me about it last year in May.  The expired license ticket was closed with a plea of no contest at the same time as the one in November with the same lawyer and another $250 in fines.
